Hello all this is the account of the preaching done on Saturday April, 28th, 2007:

I went down to gore park again as usual, but this time someone came with me to observe everything that would go on. (It is beneficial to be able to say that I did not go alone to assist in taking away the worries of people who are concerned for my safety; regardless of their misunderstanding of the honour of persecution) There were many interesting things to observe before the preaching did begin.

A fella who currently attends a heresy-filled charamastic church(Living Hope Christian Assembly) I used to attend approached me and we greeted each other. I gave him some tracts and he sat there reading them very intently, in fact so intently that he missed the bus he was waiting for. I greatly doubt that man's salvation because not so long ago I heard him speaking openly and pridefully about sexual things on a bus with some ladies beside him. The people on the bus were looking back at them in shock of what they were saying. If someone professes Christ and openly boasts about their sin there is a GREAT problem. They should be ashamed of their sins.

There was some fellow who began to juggle(constantly dropping the multiple juggling balls), who gathered a small crowd and entertained them. There were swarms of pigeons all around eating any discarded food possible; they were quite interesting to watch. Then my friend and I went over to the mall across the street to use the facilities. There were 2 people outside the mall, I would liken them to "mini Benny Hinns" They were giving out small papers to almost everyone walking by. The papers they were giving out seemed quite blasphemeous, watered down and an offence to God. They started out saying "pray this prayer" and then of course they had for the most part a theological correct prayer for people to repeat saying they had sinned and were sorry and believed in Jesus and the so on, but of course there was no explaination of sin, the wrath to come and other things in detail.(It seems almost to trick someone to pray a prayer to give them some false assurance) On the back of these small papers there was a verse about Jesus being the only way and the "Lord's prayer." They talked to me about many crazy things. They told me about how they go all around the world doing this and how they once prayed for some unbelieving muslims and apparantly the muslims were stopped in their tracks unable to move. People who refused their little papers were confronted with the "devils" they had and were told that they were being cast out of them. These "mini Benny Hinns" would stretch out their hand towards the person while doing this. I had to refrain from laughing. One fella they did this do stopped in his tracks and told them "my name is Damien" and they continued to say some devil casting nonsense and Damien and his buddy thus responded with some hissing and etc. These "mini Benny Hinns" told me that I need baptism in the Holy Ghost and I needed to speak in tongues and I needed: FIRE, FIRE!!!; with very much emphasis. Unfortunately instead of reproofing them for my fear of confrontation I was passive and even partook by shaking their hands. What an awful mistake, it makes me consider that i was guilty of partaking in their evil deeds.

2 John 1:9-11
9Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Eventually my friend and I went back to the gore park and after some time I began to preach. I would estimate there were about 20 hearers and they did seem to be listening intently. There were some commentaries here and there from the crowd and for the most part I did not respond to them, mostly for my inability to clearly hear them. After the preaching a fella from the crowd said: Why can't I wait till I'm on my deathbed to repent and etc. I told him about how God would see such a heart and how rare such cases would even be, I told him about how he could die any day and about the foolishness of trying to predict your own death. I told him about the following parable and about how God may require of his soul.

Luke 12:16-21
16And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God

Most of the people took tracts and so did others walking by and one lady I gave a tract asked me afterwards what church I attended and I told her. She asked for some more Gospel of Johns/Romans and for some more tracts because she wanted to give them out where she lived, so I gave her some more and was quite encouraged about that. Afterwards I just gave out more tracts and finalized the night with talking with a fella named Mark. Mark was a very interesting man, he talked about satanic cults and about how selling your soul to the devil would get you to hell, but not some "white lie." I quoted this verse and asked him what he thought it meant:

Rev 21:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

He said it would mean idoltarers who were literally worshipping some idol; that apparantly that was the lieing referring to in the previous verse. This man was hard to get through, I had to keep going back to the emphasis of the gospel and etc. Mark did take a tract and a gospel of John/Romans. Please pray for Mark that he would realize his crimes before a holy God and that would Mark would understand that he deserves an eternal hell for his sins and his need to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

I struggled much with fear and distraction through out the whole night. I could have preached 2-3 more times and I should have reproofed those "mini Benny Hinns." Please pray for me regarding those things, but most importantly pray for all the receivers of the tracts(I estimate around 50 or so) and for the hearers and for Mark and for those "mini Benny Hinns." So much that I lack and I need to learn, so many failures and weakness on my part, but so fortunate that it is the power of God unto salvation; if it was anything of myself then surely there would be no hope at all! Thank God for His grace!

Rom 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

I would HIGHLY recommend a sermon to all of you, Ten Sheckles and a Shirt. I consider this a VERY important sermon. It is spoken by Paris Reidhead. I do not know so much about Mr.Reidhead and so I cannot endorse him. This sermon uses KJV and speaks very much on humanism and our motivation and the watering down of the gospel. You can listen to it here: http://www.sermonindex.net/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?lid=282 (Note: I do not fully endorse sermonindex either)

What about the Romans road?
Admit that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23
Understand that you deserve death for your sin. Romans 6:23a
Ask God to forgive you and save you. Romans 6:23b
Give your life to God... His love poured out in Jesus on the cross is your only hope to have forgiveness and change. His love bought you out of being a slave to sin. His love is what saves you -- not religion, or church membership. God loves you! Romans 5:8
Call out to God in the name of Jesus! Romans 10:13
If you know that God is knocking on your heart's door, ask Him to come into your heart. Romans 10:9,10 Is Jesus knocking on your heart's door? Revelation 3:20a

This is a basic outline of the Romans Road. I would never use this "Romans Road" myself. It seems to based on the traditions of men and seems to presume that the sinner understands what their sins are.

Prov 20:6
6Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?

I do not think it is wise to presume that a sinner understands his sin even if the person admits to being a sinner, as looking at the above verse. It would seem that this Romans Road avoids confrontation on specific sin, perhaps for fear of offense, although that may not always be the case for people may now just use it out of tradition. If someone admits to being a sinner then it would be wise to see if they agree with how God's Word defines them:

Rom 7:18
18For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

Isa 64:6
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Jer 17:9
9The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Psalm 14:1

1The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Psalm 58:3
3The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

Rom 1:28-32
28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Rom 3:10-19
10As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
13Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
14Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
15Their feet are swift to shed blood:
16Destruction and misery are in their ways:
17And the way of peace have they not known:
18There is no fear of God before their eyes.
19Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

See if when they agree that they are a sinner that they agree that their heart is desperately wicked and deceitful, that all their own righteousness is as a filthy rag, they they deserve death and yes even eternity in hell for their crimes against God and etc. If you do not know how to explain sin then perhaps it would be wise to have the sinner compare themselves to the Ten Commandments. Let the sinner see their sin as exceedingly sinful, let me see that they deserve eternity in hell for their monstrous crimes and when their mouth is stopped, let the grace of the gospel be given to them!

Gal 3:24
24Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Luke 19:10
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Does the person see themselves as being lost? If not then how can they be saved?

James 4:6
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Rom 3:19
Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
The Law lets the sinner see themselves as guilty, it stopped their mouth thus humbling them. If they are not humble then God cannot save them until they are humbled. Remember God resisteth the proud.

The Romans Road also seems to usually lack to mention much of repentance.
Luke 13:3
3I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
John 8:11
She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Matt 9:13
But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
It would seem important to mention repentance, would it not?

It usually lacks to mention the burial in the tomb and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
1 Cor 15:3-4,14
3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures
The gospel includes the death, burial and resurrection; thus if one of these elements is missing could it not be concluded that the gospel has not been preached?

14And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
Showing the importance of the resurrection.

I would conclude to say to not be afraid to confront the sinner about personal sins before sharing with them the gospel and grace.

Matt 10:28
But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Psalm 118:6
The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

Consider the Lord Jesus Christs' example:

Mark 10:17-27
17And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
18And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
19Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
20And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
21Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
22And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
23And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
24And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
27And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

The rich young ruler appeared quite humble didn't he? He kneeled before Jesus and called Him good. Jesus loved this fellow enough to confront him on his sin. Jesus didn't say to the rich young ruler anything about grace or even a "sinners prayer." hmmm I wonder if Jesus made a mistake and should of used something to the like of the Romans Road or perhaps...we should follow the example of Jesus.

What about the sinners prayer? Usually included with the Romans Road is some sinners prayer. I would never use the sinners prayer myself. I don't see it in the ministry of Jesus or in the book of Acts. I do not not understand why we should get a lost person to repeat some apology or to "pray" it themselves. Last time I checked if the Holy Ghost was reproving someone of sin and that sinner saw themselves deserving of everlasting hell with no hope of escape; that perhaps the sinner could say his own words. Such as God be merciful to me a sinner.

If a man commits adultery on his wife and he is TRULY sorry, does he read or repeat some apology? Or does he speak from his heart for mercy?

Luke 18:13
And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

John 16:8
And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

Rom 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Surely we can trust God to work in the lost persons heart to bring that person to calling upon the name of the Lord? Surely it is the heart that matters and not the exact theology in their words?

Luke 23:39-43
39And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
40But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

The thief was saved, yet look at his words; nothing likened to the sinners prayer in there.
