Hello all this is the account of the preaching done on Saturday July 14th, 2007:
My friend Seyoon came down with me to Gore Park. He took many pictures (they should be added later) and it was also raining when we left. (we bused down there) I prayed that the rain would stop and by the time we were down at Gore park the rain had stopped.
I brought a sign with me this time; I was quite excited to bring one. I made it out of a broom handle, 2 pieces of bristol board, duct tape and permanent markers. I wrote one Scripture on each side of the bristol board, which were these:
Psalm 14:1
"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt..."
John 1:29
"Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." (Jesus Christ)
Hundreds of people saw the sign. I held it up at all times possible. Cars honked their horn when they saw it and some would stop to read it. When I preached I would hold the sign in one hand and my Bible in the other, while being standing on my "preaching box."
I preached two times this night. I would estimate that about 70 heard on/off the first time and about 20-30 on/off the second time.
A man came up to me to read the sign and then asked about coming out to church; he took a church information sheet, having a sign really works wonders. (I thought of having a sign that had the word WONDERS on it, because if a charismatic ever came up to me, I could say here is the SIGNs and WONDERs that are following me!)
Please pray for the hearers, and for those who took gospel tracts.
There was one man who threated me as well; he told me if I don't leave or if I say another word that he would punch me in the face. (this was after the preaching; on the way home) Please pray for his lost soul! (I look at his statement as a prayer request; in other words he is saying please pray for me, I desperatley need it.)
Psalm 60:4
Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.
