Hello all this is the account of the preaching done on Saturday June 16th, 2007: As I waited on the bus as it was going down to gore park; I overheard two men talking. They were talking about some experiences they have had with mormons and the like. I suppose to them I may have appeared to be one, considering I was dressed up and in a tie. They told some humourous stories about their encounters with mormons; it was quite fascinating to listen to. I really should have taken that oppurtunity to give them a tract or witness to them or anything! Well there's an oppurtunity down the drain. Woe unto me if I do not preach the gospel! 1 Corinthians 9:16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! After the bus arrived I walked to a bench; sat down for a few minutes and read some Scriptures to encourage myself, then I went over to preach. There were probably around twenty or so in the crowd. (I made sure to preach with the wind, so that the sound would travel far.) I preached to them about specific sins and about hell and the need to repent. I told them about God's love shown through His Son, Jesus Christ. I said a verse, which as of lately has become near and dear to my heart: John 1:29 29The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. I asked them if they would behold Jesus Christ. I expounded some more on certain things and then ended with urging them to consider their eternity. Afterwards I spoke to a man from the crowd. He professed to be a born-again Christian who attends a church called tabernacle. (I have no idea what that is.) While I was talking with this man three women came up to us. They began to tell us of their sinful lifestyles, quite proudly and asked us some questions. One of these three women had been at the gay parade that our city held earlier that day. If I am not mistaken she told us about how she took her young children to the gay parade earlier that day. She also professed how she was a lesbian and spoke of the scantily dressed women walking by, which she was lusting over. Truly we have become a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah! We discussed some more things with these ladies, but in the end they refused to take gospel tracts. I went around the left-over crowd dispersing some gospel tracts and went back to chat with the three women. While this was going on a lady came up to me asking me if I could help her to buy some food. I accepted and bought her and her friend some food. Afterwards we discussed many different things. They were grateful for the food as well. They were professing catholics. They desired to come visit church with me, please pray for them. Please pray for the ladies mother; named Barb. She is in the hospital and I believe is not a Christian as well. Please pray for all the hearers and for those who took the tracts. Oh how greatly I desire you to pray for them! After reflecting on the night; I realized how much work needs to be done at gore park. How much labour and prayer is truly needed. How desperately we do need God to move. Oh how I wish for a labourer to come with me, but nonetheless I will go even if there is none who are willing. Luke 10:2 2Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Are you a labourer? Are you praying for the Lord to send forth labourers? Well, what are you waiting for? |
